Long Pond Classic 2013

The second annual  Long Pond Heritage Classic 2013 had to be cancelled this year due to severe weather conditions and concern for visitor and player safety. In making this difficult decision the organizing commit received the full support of the players and sponsors that had subscribed to this year’s event.

Fortunately the charity games in support of New Boundaries were able to be completed on Friday evening before the storm’s arrival.  These games were as follows featuring :  the RCMP versus the Windsor and Hantsport Firefighters. The RCMP won the game 7 – 5. Game 2 was the Home Hardware All-Star game – Home Hardware (coached by Dave Hunter) defeated the Valley Leafs (coached by Joe Robertson) 7-6. Both games featured Jennifer Wakefield and Natalie Spooner from the Canadian women’s national hockey team.
